Volunteer Opportunities

We Need YOU!

Our swim meet season and our meets are all volunteer-led, and we need every parent to pitch in and help so we can run smooth meets. Volunteering is a great front-row seat to your swimmer's events and a fun way to get to meet other parents.

VOLNTEER SHIFTS WILL OPEN ON APRIL 1st 2026! Be Sure to Sign Up!

Find the Right Volunteer Role for You!:

There are many opportunities for you to fulfill your volunteer requirements.  Review these options and find the right role for you.  Some of these jobs do require prior online training.  Summer league swimming is a training opportunity for new swimmers as well as new swim parents!  Get in there and give it a try!  We will have an informational meeting regarding all these jobs and the opportunities you have available to volunteer for our season.

  • Meets:
    • Clerk of Course - Works as a team to line up swimmers in their proper event and heats prior to walking them to the start. This is particularly important for the younger swimmers. *Think "herding cats."
    • Timers - During regular season meets, timers will use the app Swimmingly on their own phones to stop the clock and record each swimmers' ID number at the end of the race.  *You get a front row seat, and you might get wet!*  During County Championships, you'll be provided a stopwatch.
    • Order of Finish - Record what place each lane finishes at the end of the race.  *Also a front row seat!*
    • Heat Winners - Distribute heat winner ribbons to the winner of each heat. *You will be the most popular person on the deck!*
    • Hospitality Runners - At our home meets only, we want to make sure all our volunteers are well-supplied with water and snacks throughout the meet.  *Thinks "Hostess with the Mostest!"*
    • Stroke and Turn Judge - Positioned at both ends of the pool, stroke and turn judges observe all swimmers for proper technique and report any infractions to the Meet Referee. *This job does require some prior online training!*
    • Starter - Announces each event and starts each heat. *This job does require some prior online training.*
    • Referee - Signals the start of each event/heat, monitors the meet, instructs Stroke & Turn Judges, and signs off on any disqualifications during the course of the meet. The Referee's word is final at a meet. *This job also requires some prior online training.*
    • Scorekeeper - Works alongside the opposing team's scorekeeper to manages the IPad during the meet, scoring the meet, and entering disqualifications as approved by Meet Referee. *This job does require some prior online training.*
  • Events:
    • Swim-A-Thon Planning Committee - Plan, host, and clean up after our annual Swim-A-Thon. 2 shifts available. Must be able to attend the entire event 3:30-6:30. Email or contact Lauren Hilbers if interested in this position.
    • End of Year Slide Show Creation - please email us if interested in this position, it can be 2 shifts for one person or a team of 2 for 1 shift each
    • Ribbons and Popsicles - Purchase popsicles, provide the receipt to Christie for reimbursement, and help distribute popsicles and ribbons after ALL practice times (4-6:30) that Thursday. Coordinate handing the ribbon box off to a coach at the end of the last practice.
    • Strokes and Donuts - Purchase donuts, provide the receipt to Christie for reimbursement, and distribute the donuts after Saturday morning practice.

  • Under the Meets & Events tab, select "Signup Calendar" to sign up for a swim meet.
  • Click the green JOB SIGNUP tab
  • Sign up for volunteer shifts of choice (note one parent may sign up both parents for jobs -- scroll down and you’ll see the other parent listed).

Volunteer Buyout:

If work requirements or younger siblings prevent you from volunteering, we do offer a buy-out option where families can pay $200 to cover their required two shifts ($100/shift). With these funds, we will staff the volunteer positions necessary to run a meet. We need YOU so please consider volunteering rather than purchasing the buy-out. At the end of the season, families that opted to volunteer but have not met their volunteer requirements (2 shifts per family), will be charged accordingly. Typically, these charges will appear on the July statement (in your mailbox in August).
