Attached are the Heat Sheet (to guide you through the meet) and Meet Lineup by Swimmer (to help you find your child's events and mark their arm accordingly) reports. *Please note the heat sheet has been edited to combine heats where possible to help the meet run as quickly as possible as well as it is subject to change as we try to accommodate any errors or absences.*Print and review the attached heat sheet to follow along during the meet. You can use the FIND feature (Control+F) to search your child's last or first name.
Heads up! Monday there will be a big golf tournament at the club so the parking lot will be full when we are arriving.
PREP BEFORE THE MEET:
If you have already picked up your team shirt, please label your child's name inside the neck with a Sharpie. This will help prevent shirts from getting lost/mixed up at the meet. Remember to wear your shirt to the meet for a Team Pic! If you have not received your shirt/caps they will be at swimmer check in at 3:15
We recommend that everyone review MEET 101 on our website. This information will help you know what to pack and give you an idea of what to expect at a swim meet as well as how to mark your swimmer in preparation for the meet!
***Please make sure you take care of the following before arriving at the meet.*** It works best if you do not try to do sharpie and sunscreen back to back - one needs to dry for a while to limit smearing. If you need help, the coaches or any experienced parent would be happy to assist.
Mark your child with a sharpie as follows:
- On the right shoulder blade (in any order):
- Child’s 3-digit ID
- ONCC
- First and Last Name
- Child’s age
- On the forearm,
- Event, Heat and Lane of each race your child is entered in.
- Pack water, snacks, towels, sunscreen, activities
NOTES FROM THE COACHES:
The coaches are still getting to know each swimmer, and we have a lot of new faces on the team. If your swimmer is entered in an event and they don’t feel ready, please have them come find me before the meet starts!
As we have mentioned, the Williamson County Swim League rule is that no coach can be in the water helping a swimmer during a race. We are using this meet as a “practice meet”, so that rule will be in effect. Obviously, if a swimmer is struggling, we will provide help. But no coaches will jump in the water before a race to help a swimmer get across the pool. If your swimmer does not go when the starter starts the heat, do not worry! We are just two weeks into our season and some swimmers are still building their confidence.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
