Swim-a-thon this Thursday! Important Details

SWIMATHON DOL-FUN EVENT benefitting Nashville Dolphins is happening at ONCC this Thursday June 19th during your regularly scheduled practice time! Some of the members of the Nashville dolphins will be there from 4:30-5:30 and swimming with the older swimmers. We are encouraging all families to do their donations online if possible here but if you want to bring in money next week and turn in by 6/23 that is also ok. Last year our year donated $4,928 from our team and came in 2nd place for fundraising! Thursday, we will have a pie in the face raffle going on you can participate in and we will be selling the new hats with all proceeds from both going to Nashville Dolphins. There will also be a free coke dive available if kids want to do that after they swim their laps. If you have any questions reach out and let us know!
Thank you, Lauren Hilbers

Hello swim team members,

We are so excited for you to participate in a Dol-FUN Swim in support of the Nashville Dolphins. The Nashville Dolphins is a nonprofit that provides FREE water safety and aquatics programming to special needs adults and children with no age-out policy. Not only does this help combat the alarming statistic of drowning being a leading cause of accidental death in the special needs community but also allows our participants to experience the joy and pride of being on a swim team, just like you!

Participating in this Dol-FUN Swim is exciting and allows you to give back to others while doing something you love. Our hope is that each participating swimmer will raise at least $25 for the Nashville Dolphins, which will positively impact the lives of our special needs swimmers.

Once I decide to participate, what do I do?

You can let your family, friends and neighbors know that you are participating in a Dol-FUN Swim in support of the Nashville Dolphins. Then, you can ask your friends and family members to make a pledge and can use the pledge sheet to keep track of your donations. Those who agree to donate can pledge a dollar amount per lap or a flat dollar amount. (For reference, our younger swimmers may complete between 5-15 laps, but our more experienced swimmers may complete 30+ laps in the pool.)

What do I say when I ask/text/email for pledges?

I am participating in our swim team’s fundraiser for the Nashville Dolphins. The Nashville Dolphins provides swim lessons and a swim team for swimmers with special needs at no cost. My goal is to complete {number} laps during the Dol-FUN Swim. Would you make a pledge per lap toward my fundraising efforts for the Nashville Dolphins? I will let you know how many laps I complete after the Dol-FUN Swim. Thank you!

What happens during the Dol-FUN Swim?

Simply show up for your Dol-FUN at the scheduled time and place, and swim as many laps as you can. Swim coaches or volunteers will tabulate how many laps you swim. After you swim, you can reconnect with your family, friends, and neighbors to collect your donations.

How should the money be collected?

You can collect cash or checks from your donors, or they can donate online using the linkhttps://nashvilledolphins.org/donate-3

Checks can be made payable directly to the Nashville Dolphins at 95 White Bridge Road Suite 209 Nashville, TN 37205.Please return your donations along with your pledge sheet to your coach or team representative.

Will swimmers win prizes for participating?

YES! The Dolphins will award prizes to the top three individuals on each team who raise the most money. The top 2 money earners from each team will be invited to participate in a Unified Relay with Nashville Dolphin swimmers at City Meet at lunchtime on Saturday, June 28th. There is also a traveling trophy that will be given to the top fundraising team in the Nashville Swim League!
